Christianity

Resently i've been looking alot into people feelings/ideas about Christianity/God/Jesus/Sin so forth.
I've been trying to listen to belivers and non belivers and just hear there veiws without bashing them in the head with the bible and telling them thier wrong, which i've been able to not do that, which is nice so i can hear what they honestly have to say. Now the reason i'm posting this blog is just to share some interesting things i've heard.

I accquatance of mine resently lost a very close friend, and he's having a really hard time, in his resent blog he posted this statement.
"I don't believe in heaven or hell or postmortem judgment or anything. I'm not saying that you're wrong if you believe otherwise, and I'm not trying to dissuade anyone to believe those things, so please don't try to correct me. If I'm wrong, that's fine with me. According to most religions, I've already got a ticket to hell or the jaws of an omnipotent jellyfish or whatever just because I'm attracted to guys, so I figure I might as well believe whatever makes sense to me personally."
To me that sounds he has had many people (christians) tell him he's going to hell because he's a homosexual. Which to me that's crap, that's not why he's going to hell, sure that's why he can't be in heaven because he has sin, but heck none of us can be in Heaven for various reasons. The reason he can't go to heaven is beacuse he doesn't belive Jesus who is God gave up his powers to become human, take on all our sins and died for us so we won't have to.

Here's a very interesting conversation posted by i'm guessing some belivers and some non-belivers
"Aren't really religious people supposed to believe that god loves everyone? *shrugs in non-religious-ness*"~KarlaBob

"What they're supposed to believe and what they DO believe are often very different, unfortunately"~FaronKaos

"Well, that's the cherry on the sundae. He was an ultra-conservative Christian. Now, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the name spelled Christian because they believe God's son, Jesus Christ, died in order to make up for our sins--because God loves everyone? I mean, if God hated people like this creep was saying, you'd think he'd be like, "...Bugger off! Not my problem!" instead of, 'Here, I'll loan you my son! Take good care of... crap. Well, that was fast.'" ~BlackLillian

"That just makes it worse! It's people like that which actually make me disturbed, if not disgusted to have been baptized as Christian in my younger years. Uhg, I have met SO many of these religious ASS-holes in my life, it's rediculous. I've officially labelled myself as Aethiest because of that little jack-tard up there. Not only that, but religions in general actually terrify me, for the fact that they are the perfect form of brainwashing Someone actually had the guts to preach outside of my highschool in my senior year. He flagged down my friend's dad and asked if his daughter wore a skirt. When her dad said, 'yes,' the man ACTUALLY responded with "Then she's a whore." And he was casual about it?! I would have taken that f***ing American flag he was waving and removed a few discs in his spine!" ~see-souzou-run

"Ah, indeed. Its very annoying when religious people call themselves christains and are only concerned with condemnation and rules, and not the point of Christianity which is salvation and unconditional love. And yes, I myself am a christain. It's a shame when doctrines deviate from the bible, and become hurtful." ~Yusagi

I'll spare you of everything that was said in the conversation, i coppied about ten pages worth (in my notes not here) and that was only the interesting replys. So yeah , their are so many false preachers out thier still today saying Women are horrible and will go to hell if not for child birth, and Women should be silent during church. Another girl told me of a man who claimed to be a Christian and was preaching on the streets and at one point said that it was womens faults they get rapped because they wear reviling clothing. It's just shamful what the term Christian has become, over centrys humans make it worst and worst by saying and doing things in the name of God. I really wish i could come up with a new term for some one who fallows Jesus and has a relationship with God.
And you know what bites on top of all of this, i relize we will have to deal with many people who have been hurt by a Christian. I bet if i live to be a 100 their will still be people telling me that they don't belive in God because of what one of their "fallowers" did to them
And what i'm scared of, because I'm human, i'm scared someone might say that about me... Lord i pray that never happens.

This is really interesting Christi and very cool that you want to talk to people about their beliefs in God. It is pretty sad when you hear about "christians" who take their own agenda or personal veiws and call them God's.
